Hello.  This site is dedicated to my dad, Elmer Boyd, and contains my 
attempts to find his line amid all of the Boyds I've come across in the 
Kentucky and Virginia Boyds.  Growing up in a small town in Ohio and going to 
school with no one else with that surname, I never dreamed there were so many 
Boyds or they would be so difficult to trace.  My Great-Great-Grandfather was 
James Boyd, who was born in Virginia about 1796 and died in Lawrence County, 
Kentucky, March 22, 1865.  All of you Boyd relatives who are researching this 
line know how common "James Boyd" is...right up there with William, John, and 
Andrew.  Too bad they didn't have more Isoms and Greenvilles.
